Livestock Education & Working Dogs

– Welcome to –

Hello, we are Frank Wright and Cailyn Muntelwit the creators of Stock Handling and Staff Development

and we’re based in Central West QLD, Australia.

Along with running our own herd of breeders and implementing our weaner educating program on clients cattle, our chief focus is teaching people how to apply the S.S.D weaner education program for themselves, through a 2-day school and on the job consultancy.

Frank grew up in the city and started working in the gulf and saw the industry through fresh eyes.  As he moved to a few different places he got to learn from some very handy stockman and observed what worked well and not so well.  Later after meeting Cailyn and attending several Neil McDonald schools, he started on the ‘co-operating with cattle’ journey.

Cailyn grew up on family cattle stations and learnt good stockmanship from her father at a very early age. Starting mustering on horse back from the age of 2.  Mustering and walking breeders long distances as well has helping neighbours to get their uneducated, rogue cattle in with her father was a great way to learn the importance of educating cattle correctly. After being lucky enough to travel with Neil McDonald for 3 weeks, she got her first team of Kelpies. She then attended many schools with Neil and has been training and retraining dogs as well as breeding the odd litter, all whilst educating cattle and continuing to learn from very clever stock men and women.

She has recently taken a step back from the hands on work after having kids and taking on more of a supportive role for Frank as he embarked on a journey of figuring out a program that can be applied to fit every cattle business in the industry to create an even standard of stock handling.

We are passionate about the rural industry and have created this program to standardize stock handling so the stock can be trained in an easy to understand, step by step process that’s clear, simple and easy to implement year after year.

“Frank Wright has been a key driver of the Aminya Pastoral Teams livestock handling skills since he commenced working with our business in 2020. He has created a culture of professional livestock handling within the Team and continues to work closely with our business to create better outcomes for livestock and people.
Frank has a unique way of explaining livestock behaviour to individuals so that they are able to expand their skill set rapidly whilst not compromising on quality outcomes.”
